LIGHTING UP MARYLAND YELLOW

Maryland is preparing to join the national movement to illuminate America in yellow on January 27 in observance of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. While participating landmarks and institutions are still being confirmed, interest from civic leaders, organizations, and communities across the state continues to build. As Maryland locations formally join the initiative, this page will be updated with photos and details highlighting their participation.

We invite Maryland cities, public institutions, universities, cultural organizations, and landmark facilities to take part in this meaningful annual tribute. By participating, Maryland will stand alongside states nationwide in honoring Holocaust victims and promoting remembrance, education, and unity.

Government House - Maryland

Maryland's Governor Wes Moore stated, "Tonight, the First Lady and I have lit Government House yellow for Maryland Holocaust Remembrance Day. We must bear witness and learn from this dark period in our history so we do not repeat it. Now and always, we stand united against antisemitism and hate in all its forms. Never again."

Interested in having your Maryland building or institution join this initiative?

We welcome participation from additional cities, agencies, landmarks, and organizations across the state.
