LIGHTING UP VIRGINIA YELLOW

Virginia joins the national movement to illuminate America in yellow each January 27 in recognition of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. With support from municipal partners, Virginia contributes to the growing visibility of this important tribute.

We encourage additional Virginia cities, institutions, and landmarks to join the initiative. Please contact the coalition if your location would like to participate.

Richmond City Hall – Richmond VA

Richmond City Hall lit its building in yellow, offering a strong civic tribute in the center of Virginia’s capital city. Its participation highlights the role municipal leadership plays in promoting remembrance and education.

On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust and honor the memory of all victim of Nazi persecution. We are committed to remembrance, education, and standing against antisemitism and hate of all forms. Thank you to Mayor Avula and his staff for illuminating City Hall in yellow again this year.
